At the end of May, Kangasniemi talked to us from Germany, near Düsseldorf, where she was preparing for the culmination of his sporting career so far with her horse Goldprins.
– Everything has been going well here in the new environment. For example, the distances to the horse shows are much shorter than going to international competitions from Finland. Before Paris, we will compete in Germany and the Netherlands in June, and again in the Netherlands in July.
The Paralympics have been a goal for Kangasniemi for many years. She was informed of her selection for the Paralympics in March.
– It felt incredible to get the message that I had a place at the Games. I had worked long and hard for it and now I have achieved it. I’m going to Paris in good spirits because we’ve had a great setting here in Germany to prepare for what’s to come. In the competition, I aim for my best performance.
Andament has supported the young para rider on her journey to Paris.
– I am very grateful to all my supporters for wanting to be involved in this project. Without them, this would not have been possible, and hopefully, our cooperation will continue in the future, says Laura Kangasniemi.
